Dear Colleagues,

     Warm greetings and salutation. Today we are witnessing the Egyptian Society of Histology and Cytology Annual Conference No. 45, respectively. I am pleased to meet you on the virtual video conferencing for the second year, given what the world is going through from the Corona Pandemic. The theme of our conference this year is “Cell Defense Against Recent Pandemics”.

       As for the Society's Activity during the past year, it was diverse, as several webinars were held to support researchers in our medical field to introduce the basics of good scientific research. Starting from choosing research points, applying them practically, clinically, and scientifically, and lastly preparing them for international publication.

       I bring to you here the good news that the Egyptian Journal of Histology continues to rise and leap to a much higher rank than previous years in the international Scopus Classification. The Journal is nominated in a partnership with EBSCO, the great international publishing corporation. Partnering with EBSCO provides us with the opportunity to increase our subscriptions, drive web traffic to our Journal's site, and enhance our overall brand recognition.  In addition, there is a great achievement to join the global Team Publons Foundation.

      Finally, I would like to thank the fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank to promote scientific medical conferences thus reaching the highest standards. My sincere thanks and appreciation to the professors who will hold the scientific speeches as well as the researchers. Particularly I would like to mention the members of the Scientific Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Conference. Last but not least, I wish everyone a medical scientific productive day that you will like.
