About the conference
During the celebrations of the forty-fifth anniversary of its founding, the Egyptian Society of Histology and Cytology launched a new vision under the title: "Cellular Defence Against Recent Pandemics" and because Egypt is a distinguished entity in the African continent and has a leading role in the scientific advancement, Egypt has been keen on supporting the success of the International Annual Conference that was planned to be a periodic international platform to share and discuss a broad field for scientific, histological and applied research.
With the challenges of a new era and our belief in the role of science and scientific researches as a powerful force in this era, the forty-fifth International Annual Conference of the Egyptian Society of Histology and Cytology chaired by Prof. Dr. Hekmat Sorour. Professor of Histology and cell biology, Faculty of Medicine, Al-Azhar University comes to delineate new and clear milestones on the way of discovering the latest developments in COVID 19 and its effect on the body's various cells and tissues. This conference is an extension of the way the association started since its establishment in 1976 at the Faculty of Medicine, Al-Azhar university , which was publicized according to the Law 32 of 1964, Law 153 of 1999 and Law 84 of 2002.
The association has adopted the work in cultural, scientific, medical services and educational activities for specialists in the field of medicine and science. Many scientific conferences and seminars have been held in cooperation with scientists from outside and within the country.. Forty four scientific conferences were held annually in December of each year with the aim of enriching research skills, providing the opportunities for local researchers and scientists to participate in scientific discussions, to exchange their research experiences and to ensure close cooperation between international researchers of various medical disciplines and their institutions. Moreover, scientific trips were organized for specialists in the medical field and a great effort have been done to coordinate efforts with those in charge of scientific research at the local and international levels.
Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahed Ahmed Busaila hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors from its inception until 2001, followed by Prof.Dr Ahmed Saeed Al-Morsi until 2016, and then the position was crowned by Prof. Dr. Hekmat Sorour from 2017 to date.
The conference will include many scientific events and workshops in addition to many purposeful scientific discussions as well as honoring the best presentation in the medical field.
